Joni Roberts joined the Siouxland Community Health Center in May 2019. She received her BSN at the University of Iowa (2004); practiced as a nurse in labor and delivery at Sanford, Sioux Falls, SD before returning to school, then graduated with MSN with specialty of midwifery – Emory University (2008). She also became a Certified Car Seat Safety Technician in 2022.
Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death in children under the age of 14 in the U.S. It is important for caregivers to have the most up-to-date, accurate information about transporting their children safely. Our certified Child Passenger Safety Technician will provide education and best practice recommendations to families and caregivers.
We encourage you to bring your car seat to your postpartum appointment(s) to be checked by our CPST. This way, you will know for sure that your infant is placed properly in its seat and will have a safer ride home with you.
