This quarter, we are featuring: STI Awareness Week Know the Facts:
Some STIs can lead to serious health problemsAn untreated STI, like chlamydia, can make it difficult or impossible for a woman to get pregnant. An untreated STI can also increase the chances of transmitting or getting HIV.

SCHC Also Offers Sexual Health Services
Confidential family planning services for men, women, and teens includes:
- A full range of birth control options and supplies. Some methods provided include: birth control pills, the Patch, Depo Shot, NuvaRing, IUD’s, the implant Nexplanon, condoms, natural family planning and emergency contraception
- Pregnancy testing, counseling, and referrals
- Annual exams (check-ups)
- Screening and treatment for STIs/STDs, HIV/AIDS
- Breast and cervical cancer screenings
- Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) and other health screenings
- Yeast infection treatment
- Client education and counseling, and community education
- Follow-up and referrals for social and medical needs
Abortions are not provided through this program.
Costs for Services
Fees for Title X family planning services are based on ability to pay. Services are free for people enrolled in Medicaid and those whose income is below the federal poverty guidelines. Patients will meet with a financial counselor to determine eligibility.
SCHC is a Title X Family Planning Health Center that offers high quality and confidential health care. Medical services are provided by physicians and nurse practitioners trained in family planning health care. Educational programs offered through our family planning clinic respond to local community needs.

14th Annual Dinner & Auction Recap: |
The Siouxland Community Health Foundation is grateful for your support of our 14th Annual Dinner & Auction – Tastes from Around the World. Your contribution helped us surpass our goal, and with your generosity, over $87,000 was raised through our event.
This exciting event honored Mari Kaptain-Dahlen. Throughout her 30-plus years in Siouxland, she has made a profound impact on our community through various volunteer opportunities, and notably, through her previous role as CEO of the Siouxland Community Health Center. We were pleased to award her the 2025 George Boykin Citizen Award during the event on April 12,2025. Other highlights included: an engaging and inspiring performance from the Native American rock band, Brulé, wonderful food stations from The South Sioux City Marriott Riverfront Hotel, a vibrant live and silent auction, and a lively emcee from Powell Broadcasting, Moose Cannon.
