Julie Elbert began working for Siouxland Community Health Center on November 18, 2024. She moved to Sioux City, Iowa to attend Briar Cliff University in 1985. She graduated with her Bachelor of Art’s degree in Social Work in 1988. She received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 1994.
With over 25 years of mental health therapy experience, Julie has worked in many settings, providing therapy services for children, adults, and families in Sioux City and surrounding communities. She has provided counseling services in the Sioux City Schools, WITCC and Morningside College. She has also worked with law enforcement, first responders, hospital employees, college students, and businesses, providing critical incident stress management and follow-up services.
Julie is licensed in Iowa and Nebraska to provide mental health services and Alcohol and Drug Counseling. She works with children ages 8 and up, as well as adults, utilizing CBT, EMDR, and other evidence-based therapy modalities.
